Thanks. I found it in Sec 23. I have a friend new to the 7er and he thought they could assign unlimited SC's!

Yes...but...international categories have 24 hr long short calls though. It is OK if you live in base...otherwise you can get screwed. For example, they assign Monday 6:00 AM to Tuesday 6:00 short call. (now thats two hotel rooms...you made it to your base Sunday night to be in position early morning on Monday). It gets even worse. They give Tuesday off for rest and then assign a 24 hr short call window on Wednesday again. Now...you can't get home on Tuesday (if you're a commuter) because you have to be in position by 6:00 AM (8:00AM latest) on Wedneday for the short call. So...you do 2 short calls and eat 5 hotel rooms ....and add all the time spent away from home. I'm trying to get out of my seat lock and get displaced to a domestic category on this AE! In the meantime...time to get a dang crash pad...I thought I was done with it

The ER goes everywhere and I love that variety. If I can keep it, it is where I will stay. A small category like atl will have on the 330 leads to weird trips, and limited options.

Look at NYC's 777 and 765 seats for an example.
I'm afraid you're right. I'm sure they're eventually grow the category to include Europe, but with only 50 captains, I'm betting the initial trips will be those that currently require deadheads at both ends. The good news is that includes HNL, the bad news is the rest of those trips are Africa.

Looking at the ATL330 captain to FO ratio, it appears there will be some 12+ hour flights included which to me means Lagos in the winter.

I have zero international categories on my bid because of this. Maybe someday I'll be senior enough to not worry about reserve. Those will be the days.

Hence the reason Delta in 07-08 was hiring directly into the ER. And people looked at us and scoffed, you shouldn't be here yet! It took me 10 years to hold ER FO.

Well, we flew a lot less international when you had 10 years in the company, we used international widebodies to fly ATL-MCO, and SC sucks on RES on the ER.
