No hail here, thank gawd. Looked like a microburst, with the rain almost straight down and very gusty.

The "tuna dome" was ugly anyway......violated every neighborhood height rule, but Valley Ranch let Jerry Jones get away with it because it WAS a "temporary" building. Glad no one was killed!! Lots of electrical wires and heavy rain.

The football players were lucky, they were wearing helmets. Years and years ago when people actually liked and pulled for the Braves, their stadium caught fire and then the team "caught fire" and it made a good story that you could trace their run back to that fire.

So along those lines, if the practice field collapses what does that mean for the Cowboys season?

And long live Delta, may the Widget be my guiding light in times of trouble and stuff. (keeping my post on topic)

Landing

For some reason the crosswind correction just cracks me up.
I noticed they use the APU on landing, you can kind of tell right there before the flare. To each his own.

So I just got back from a 3 day and I have notice a ton of heavy metal sitting at the TOC and at south cargo. I dont mean a few aircraft. It is around 30 planes. Whats up? Did I miss a downsize announcement?

All 767s and occasionally 777s. I noticed that too, is it more than normal?

Ferd,

Just lurking mostly.....but can't help myself sometimes!!! I, of course would love to see the 75/767 up in SEA!!!! The only problem that comes to mind is...I sincerely doubt I'd be able to hold it! I'd be happy being the plug and I promise I wont complain ......at least for a couple of months!!!! There are a bunch of REALLY senior guys that live in the PNW (from both Delta N and Delta S). If we do establish a base up here and I can get in, I'll be looking for ya! I haven't forgotten the promised Saipan tour.

I saw the Cowboy training center on the new. That was some serious wind to cause that damage. Lucky it wasn't around the airport.

What day of the week. Normal on a Saturday when a lot of flights are pulled down.

From the MEC boards. Any clue?
I left LGA this morning and the FA's were talking about some simulcast announcement scheduled for 10 am on Monday. They were asking what ALPA was telling us. Haven't seen anything from the company or ALPA. They said they heard it from the AFA. Anyone know anything?

I think all those planes were sitting around from the Saturday schedule decrease. It's Sunday now... I'll check and see if they're still sitting there today.

Folks on the DALPA forum said that a cat food factory in Alabama was shutting down. May result in a shortage.
