Blind swaps? Anyone have the over under on hockey screaming bloody murder after doing this in the next few days?

Ha ha. Every single trip I put in for a blind swap is better than the trips I have. If any of them go through, I'll consider myself ahead. I think. I'm just excited to get a break from reserve. Things are looking up for me...even if it's only for a month.

If you're putting in for specific trips then you aren't really doing a blind swap.

Hi guys
Is there a way to put in a swap and see how much credit you get for the swapped trip as opposed to the one you have on your sked/ I have a carryout 4 day that starts on the 30 and want to swap with a carryout 5day on the 29th, but i only want to do it if i can increase my oct pay. thanks everyone

The first thing to remember is that trip credit is actually paid on the last day of a trip. So, for a carryover trip, you receive the pay for trip credit in the next month.

Basically, subtract the actual time for the 29th and 30th of the you want to swap into from it's total time then add that to your Oct. time minus your other trip.

No that's never good but always possible for any of us. Great long write up though to help further the message.

I still think regional flying should be no different than the DAL-ALK deal. You're flying on a different airline paint scheme and all and it's never ever referred to as anything but a seperate airline. No Delta Connection, no United Express, no Continental Express. It's Comair, it's Shuttle America, it's Expressjet.

As to Lake Charles. That's not the first time that has happened. Before I started flying there we had a crew do the same thing because that private field and the crappy and small Lake Charles airport airlines fly into are only 6 miles apart, about the same latitude and runways face the same direction.

I just remember the drum beat of being mindful of that issue when going in there late on a visual and the tower is closed, as in nobody to catch your mistake as you switch off Houston center and go to ctaf.

Here's the flight path: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/C...235Z/KIAH/KLCH

It didn't say what type of airplane it was but...did they have a magenta line to follow? I've often had to "follow the magenta line" to find some of the little places, just to be sure I was at the right one!

Years ago (1987) a Delta mainline crew put a DC 9 into Frankfurt, KY, while looking for CVG! It was at night, in the rain, shooting an NDB approach to CVG, they popped out of the clouds, saw a lit up runway and landed...then it got intersting trying to find the gates! Luckily most of today's airplanes having glass cockpits and magenta lines to follow.
