Being an airline guy prior to going to UPT, I found it comical that the USAF taught/approved us "direct" to a fix, using DME, an RMI, and the bottom half of your pencil. In a T-38, doing 10NM/min.
I didn't explain that method very well. Probably about as well as my "directs" looked on a radar scope. If you remember doing this, I guess you understood it, sort of. |

I never figured it out. Used to pretend that I knew what I was doing but never really had a clue.
Now don't get me started on the RMI intercepts... Cheers George |

Something I'm not sure anyone "fully understood" in UPT, or thereafter. :) For your reminiscent pleasures though, I've included a link for remedial training. :D Fix to Fix Fly safe, GJ |

How do you do a blind swap? I thought a blind swap was just putting in for trips that are not in open time yet.
Its the asterisk I mentioned. Look at the help screen (F5) for the swap template. ie= *03 01OCT would mean you want any 3 day trip on October 1st. You put *3 or *4 or*10 etc, etc. instead of the rotation number. |
meanwhile over at Alaska Air:
Q3 Capacity +6% Full Year Capacity planned +8-9% YOY Adding 25 new Boeing 737-800 & 737-900ER in the next 4 Years Parking 3 737-400 Net gain of 21 jets out of 117 mainline AC or 18% fleet growth. 5% of AS revenue provided by Delta codeshare... Cheers George |

Well done, sir. Well done, indeed.
The crazy-assed mixture of T-37 RMI's and smoking-hot underboob is making me feel funny. |
