I thought about that too, is it regular fuel or is it something else they run?

Thanks Johnso,
After talking to IT, you can designate a 4 number pin via Icrew or Ecrew under personnel. You were faster than IT!

Glad I could help, and that you got it squared away quickly.

There is some question about the Mayday call. Some say he made one others say no call was made. The speeds they are flying the race at are faster then the 51 was designed to fly. They are almost full nose down trim at those speeds. If the tab comes off the nose up moment is huge at those speeds. The last time it happened in Reno I believe it was a 10 g pitchup. The pilot managed to get it under control and land after the pitchup.

Go here and scroll down for a pic of the missing tab and a pic that appears to show the pilot was not awake just before impact.

Got it. That makes sense.

Still curious about the lack of explosion and fire.

Is it sad that I recognized that 757 immediately as a 5500 series former NW bird without even looking at the tail # when I saw that picture?

Our former TW birds have the same door configs, but they are wingletted.

There's one video where you see a puff of flame. He hit HARD. There is a small crater left from the impact, but everything else is just little tiny pieces.

If you go to airliners net, there's a streamed webcam that you can see. The aftermath is very very graphic, but it does put into perspective on what happened.

So incredibly sad.
