Does a 747 create more profit than an MD88? Is the checkride easier on an MD88? Is there less frequent line checks on the MD88? What? What? Give me one reason a 747 pilot should make more $$$ pr hour than an MD88 pilot. Oh, and by the way, keep in mind all those profit and revenue questions we were asked in the interview....

It is complete and utterly nonsense to pay a 747 pilot more $$$ than an MD88 pilot. Lets cut the training cost for the company and pocket the $$$ instead of running this old school way of fighting towards each other for something we all know is essentially the same job.

Rant over.... Continue..

The argument for more pay on larger jets, is that it leaves leverage open if something like the 380 would show up. You lose all of that if you go to a straight longevity rate. Just food for thought.

I knew you were a good man, you will send it in and vote yes now that you have seen the light....;)

Who cares? Bring the 380's on board, dont't let AF fly them..... We can do that under one rate. We both know that we have pilots willing to fly that ugly thing for whatever.... Just get the pay up for all of us is what really matters, as well as keeping those with families closer to their families while the rest of us doing the international long hour flying with non productive 24, 48, and 72 hour layovers in places we don't really want to be....

Yet?

No, I was reading the SWA thread. They've shown us all the way- staple everyone you merge with and if they refuse to go to the back of the bus, you fire them.

Seems simple.

That seems to be the way to do it. I wonder how it will be after the pilots actually merge? If they actually merge.

So in 3 years I can make $10K more than now and that temporary contract will last 60% the life of a real one?

Interestingly enough, I had some food the other day that made the EXACT same sound when exiting, and included the glowing bullets.

Nu

Sticking to the mild sauce from now on.

One of my favorite jokes:

Guy eats very spicy meal, followed by ice cream for dessert. During the next morning's constitutional, he is "feeling the heat". It's still burning as he mutters, "c'mon Ice Cream"! :)
