Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Food for thought (hypothetical): Delta becomes a financially successful holding company with no Delta pilots.
What's good for Delta financially is not necessarily good for Delta pilots.
Perhaps we ought to only permit JV, codeshare and DCI flying if it protects Delta pilot jobs. Maybe a ticket on a JV, CS or DCI must touch a flight operated by a Delta pilot.
Cheers

Old saying:
You can love your company, just realize it is incapable of loving you in return.
The good reps are on the phone at all hours of the day making things right for pilots.
They deserve every penny and more...
As for our management, I wouldn't want any other airlines management right now including GK. If they maneuver Delta to greatness, that's all I care.
Its all about what you get for the money, results.
Delta pilots with a contract that leads the industry in pay, work-rules and qol.
Delta pilots with a career progression/seniority that is positive and better than projected.
Cheers

My expectations for the MEC is to deliver on the last 2 items, but I won't hold my breath...
My expectation for my Reps is to represent my interests vs the company and the MEC, I can say that one of my reps rocks, the other one not so much.
The guy that rocks has my back, he will represent my interests and understands that he serves to represent pilot interests. He calls back often within minutes. He deserves every penny and more.
When there's elections it is easy to give a speech and have a platform, but to be an effective Rep and do the business for the pilots is a more than full time job. The compensation hardly is sufficient.
Then are others that think their only job is to represent MEC/DALPA/ALPA to the pilots. Those guys shouldn't be there.
Cheers

I've been on a committee for ten years, and have had two trips bought from me in that time. In both cases, Delta bought my trip, not ALPA. Maybe it's different for other guys...

What on this planet, or in your inteview, suggested that you should make more $$$ on a 747 than on an MD88? Is it less work on an MD88? Is it more difficult to fly a 747? Does a 747 create more profit than an MD88? Is the checkride easier on an MD88? Is there less frequent line checks on the MD88? What? What? Give me one reason a 747 pilot should make more $$$ pr hour than an MD88 pilot. Oh, and by the way, keep in mind all those profit and revenue questions we were asked in the interview....
It is complete and utterly nonsense to pay a 747 pilot more $$$ than an MD88 pilot. Lets cut the training cost for the company and pocket the $$$ instead of running this old school way of fighting towards each other for something we all know is essentially the same job.

Guys,
I guess I am just in a contrarian type of mood but I am against pay banding. I like having different rates and being able to bid for maximum seniority or maximum pay-rates.
When I was hired I stayed on the panel a lot longer than most of my classmates because I valued seniority. If we go to pay banding seniority will basically become linear based on hire date. Guys who would be willing to trade $$$ for seniority will have zero flexibility to achieve this. At least now guys can bid for seniority, or if we were actually hiring bid for seniority, or at least dream of bidding for seniority, or at least .........
Well you get the point.
