Evidently not.

How about a mercy rule with PBS? Or MDs? Or MD-88s? :D

I know! Clemson is being embarrassed. Just crushed.

No kidding - I had a root canal in 2002 ($200 out of pocket). This year - $650 out of Pocket (with the Comprehensive plan). If we don't contractually protect our medical plans the premiums are going to go out of sight and kill some of our pay gains. By the way, we need things other than HSA's - not everyone is eligible for those plans (mainly retired military ARE NOT eligible for any HSA plan).

Another Delta pilot I know just had a bridge done on a back molar, which is next after a root canal, and it was $2000 out of pocket (total was $3500). The other options were cheaper dentures, or an implant, which is not covered at all because it is considered "cosmetic.". That option costs $4000 out of pocket. Brush your teeth and floss!

Buzz, I hope your mother-in-law recovers quickly. 59 is way too young to have things going south on you. I'm glad you can be there for your wife.

Buzz

I'll be looking for your update. Your mother-in-law and family certainly have our prayers as well.

Totally agree. The HRA didn't change much from last year. We definitely need to get something in the contract. DPMP is a joke.

I changed over to the PPO-A as of 1 January. It will be interesting how that goes- it is a MUCH lower deductible for about 10 more bucks a month.

No one else seems to use it for some reason. I never liked the idea of an HSA- at least the way you have to do it at DL. I abhorred the HRA Gold... everything ended up being crazy out of pocket.

We use the PPO-A. I have done all the calculations I can come up with and it is by far the best choice for my family. Low deductibles, no copay and low yearly out of pocket expense (2000/4000). FOr some reason, DAL likes to push the GOLD. I honestly think the best deal is PPOA, unless you dont go to the doctors at all.

Good Choice 80!

PS Buzzzzzz, we are praying! EGBOK!

Hey guys,

This is a deviation from our norm here but I want to take the time to tell you fellow Delta brothers and sisters how proud I am to be a part of this team and this family. I flew the red eye from LAX to MCO this morning and went to bed at the hotel. In the meantime, my mother-in-law, whose only 59, had a stroke in Northern California. While she was being medevac'ed to San Fran for surgery, the CPSC called and woke me up in my room. They pulled me off my rotation, listed me for a DH home, and sent a crew van to the hotel to pick me up. When I got to the jet, the CA and crew were waiting for me, boarded me and fed me. I'm flying home right now and have no idea how things are going at the hospital but I'm so proud of Delta right now. Thanks to all you guys and prayers for my wife's mom please!

Buzz, praying for your family. I am glad that DAL took care of you. That is the way it is to happen. Impressive to say the least.

Let us know if you need anything.

Those were exactly my reasons! They push the Gold so much, but all my math said the PPO. I'm glad you've been pleased with it... I think we're the only 2 at the airline with it, haha.
