Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. We'll keep her in our prayers in hope of a speedy recovery. Glad to know that Delta's got our back in situations like this. Looks like everyone went above and beyond.

Great to hear they did everything they could to get you home as soon as they could - sounds like the system worked. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

By the way, we need things other than HSA's - not everyone is eligible for those plans (mainly retired military ARE NOT eligible for any HSA plan).

Good point--thanks for mentioning that.

No kidding NewK. I only believe 10% of the predictions on this board but I am glad I am not commuting (by choice) to do day trips on the bus in NYC....

Hey guys,

This is a deviation from our norm here but I want to take the time to tell you fellow Delta brothers and sisters how proud I am to be a part of this team and this family. I flew the red eye from LAX to MCO this morning and went to bed at the hotel. In the meantime, my mother-in-law, whose only 59, had a stroke in Northern California. While she was being medevac'ed to San Fran for surgery, the CPSC called and woke me up in my room. They pulled me off my rotation, listed me for a DH home, and sent a crew van to the hotel to pick me up. When I got to the jet, the CA and crew were waiting for me, boarded me and fed me. I'm flying home right now and have no idea how things are going at the hospital but I'm so proud of Delta right now. Thanks to all you guys and prayers for my wife's mom please!

Glad to hear you got the support you needed without a hassle. That office will usually respond quicker & better than the CPO will. Good folks in there.

Will be praying for your mother-in-law.

I predict a DC9-10 will be resurrected from its grave in the desert.

disclaimer - Only $30,000 was allotted to bring it out. May not be enough to get it to the museum.

Buzz - Best wishes for a speedy and healthy recovery. Kuddos to Delta for helping out. I know that when my mom died I was pleasantly surprised by the help and support given to my family and I.

Then spend $30,000 to get the fAA to look the other way. Arent they for sale? or is it just the DOT?

Incidentally, the HSA out-of-pocket max has gone up significantly more than 6% this year.

Not trying to talk myself into lowering it, just saying that it has gone up less this year than most since 2002. I would love to have lower premiums and out of pocket expenses for health, dental, and vision. What we have is in my opinion slightly better than the average as far as benefits go. Ask your neighbors what they pay and you'll most likely find out we have descent plans and fairly low premiums.

With the changes coming in healthcare in this country, I hope we don't spend ANY negotiating capital on healthcare other than maybe bridging the gap from 60-65 so the older guys can have insurance and leave earlier than 65. I'm fine with what we've got and would rather see our ammo used for more important stuff. Our Pay, Scope, and Retirement is NOT fine while I think the cost for our benefits is at this point. Just my opinion which I'm sure many of you disagree with.

Is there a mercy rule in College Bowl Games?

Evidently not.

How about a mercy rule with PBS? Or MDs? Or MD-88s? :D
