Perusing through the bid pack, there's a 6 leg day trip on the ATL A-320 on Valentine's day. Yikes!!

I used to dread the 6 legs in my previous a/c , but once I went to the Airbus I noticed they are much easier to do ... although I still don't want them on my schedule :D

No argument there. Not up to their usual great standards. Let's hope Mother Nature comes back from vacation SOON with several epic snow storms.
News today had a segment indicating many are concerned about snow pack run-off and local water supplies.

Just as a heads up - I also finished my college on the 12+ year program and I can say that it was a MAJOR topic of discussion during my DL interview. Not finishing school in the traditional manner was a big red flag but I was prepared to talk about it - which was a good thing since a good chunk on the interview time was spent discussing it. I did have some things going for me though - I finished school strong (graduated with honors), and had advanced far at my regional airline (chief check airman, APD, etc.) and I think those things were able to offset my unusual collage path.

Congrats on finally getting it done and good luck!

Thanks! I'm prepared to talk about it. I made a mistake taking a 4 year hiatus and think that it shows character to go back after starting a career and having 2 young kids. I'm hoping they see it that way at least!

Now if we could just get those RJ's out of LGA and get some mainline growth maybe I could get the nod:)

This is why alot of BOS pilots did not bid NYC. The co cannot claim to care about QOL and then build such horrble trips.

ATL-NRT is about the shortest International leg we do on the 777. The Whale will do it...maybe in the winter it might be tough, then it can be over 15 going west. But sometimes on the way home it's not even 12hrs. Last time I flew it it was about 11hrs. I threatened to sit in F/C all the way home and let them 3 man it! Now that we are doing NRT-MSP, that is shorter.

Any of you Whale drivers know what the max range (time or distance) is with a full load of pax? How many 4 pilot, over 12hr. legs do they fly?

Well JFK this time of year is about 13:25 airborne, pretty much full up on gas/pax/MGTOW and that gets in to NRT with an avg of 29-35K FOB. Looking at Wiki looks like UAL and Quantus do a few 15:25 routes, but not sure what they are doing with loads.

I agree that more time will move to DTW from ATL when the fences come down. I also bet we see the 787-900 about that time too.

I'll be long retired by the time that shows up. :D (14 years to 65)

I hope not. I would rather see all the widebodies pay the same... personally. Since we have so few of the "super-duper premium" stuff, yada yada yada.
