I'm not saying that I wished it never happened. I think it was the best thing for both carriers knowing that consolidation is becoming a reality. If chenge had never happened in the industry, I would have rather remained stand alone. That being said, I'm well over it, and it's time to kick ass. Precisely. We're a team now and a damn good one. Five years from now, we'll all look back and be very thankful that we pulled off the previously unimaginable. See US Air, UCAL, and whomever AMR ends up with.

I only point out the anti-merger stuff because I don't want to see us make the same mistakes in judgment with our next contract that we made in evaluating the JPWA (and ever since BK really). Our focus needs to be clear. And it needs to be on restoring the standard of living our pay provides to us and our families, and on reversing the outsourcing and getting our flying back. When we acted like we just won the lottery because we got what amounts to a COLA to our bankruptcy/emergency rates, we sent the wrong message and IMO helped to undermine our ability to get the restorative gains we need going forward.

I'm just wondering if a DCI bankruptcy could translate a higher cost to DAL.

Not true. I plan on retiring at 60. I'll retire about 800 on the list assuming we have no more mergers. If I stay until 65 I'll retire top 5.
