So, a couple of days ago, someone reported a political post. No one had touched it for many hours, so I took a look.

And I thought "Yeah, that's political..." But then I saw it connected to the next one, and the next....so, to fix one, I had to fix all.

While checking (through many pages) to make sure I got all the references and follow-ons, the side-boobs came up. At that point, I asked for other Mods to decide.

No, I'm not worked-up (yet) about the UAL-CAL thing. Watching and shaking my cranium. Not tangled in any axles, side-braces, or trunions, and not a bad day, either. And yes, if you knew me well, you'd say I have a pretty good outrageous of humor. BTW: the stick is in my hand, not my..........otherwise, my wife would say there's no room for my cranium...

I can still view APC at work during the rare moments when I have nothing else to do. I'm just trying to keep it within the guidelines I was given, which means (to me): Safe for Work. Trying to make sure I, and others, don't lose that privelege.
UAL,

Point taken. Please allow me to offer two inputs. 1) there's a reason the Delta thread tops 8500 comments. We've been here awhile, we come back frequently, and previous mods have found our posts sufficiently acceptable. 2) maybe you shouldn't be as persuaded to react when regular Joes, or Joe, there can be lots of agendas here, complain about content, political or otherwise. See note number 1.

I'm not completely sure what privilege APC is granting me. I come here for education and entertainment. Maybe APC overvalues the product that they offer. Without us, there is no APC. Maybe APC should value the privilege that they have in us spending our time here.

buzz- just to back UAL up... I would have had to delete the political posts as well. It strayed off the allowable path for this forum.

Remember, things outside this thread are typically handled with a bit heavier hand. The other threads aren't the nice bar conversation among friends that this one is. I was visiting my parents until 2100 last night, then spent some needed time with my wife. When ACL, johnso, or myself can't get to things... you may find things handled with a bit heavier hand than the gentle reminder that we are used to in this playground. I've attempted to initiate some discussion in the mod section and perhaps some positive can come from it.

I saw a couple of the political digression posts earlier in the day while I was playing golf with my dad, but I couldn't jump on it and divert it from the highly predictable path that it went down.

Hey UAL, and the other Mods ...

Don't forget, this place lives on page clicks. Make it boring .. the revenue disappears .. then the site disappears.

This aint the Air Force.

I understand what you are trying to do, UAL. It's not my job to question how a man moderates a thread. But, the guy who responded to my connected "dot" said something like....

"Is that how you feel, New K. Really?" or, "Do you really think we would be better, New K? Really?"

.... and he said he got an infraction.

I think another guy who said he got an infraction said....

"I agree 100%!!!" (Im not 100% sure about that one though.)

Come on. It really does remind me of that scene from that movie. Just tell us you had a bad day and threw Kareem, his team, the opposing team, and a few beer vendors, out of the game on Kareem's farewell tour.

We'll forgive ya.

In the past, you guys just removed the post and the only result was that we felt sheepish and stupid for wasting our time.

If you guys start passing out infractions without letting us know it's coming, it will chill the water around here.

Well... I would have followed that standard procedure that we are all used to. UAL isn't used to this sandbox was what I was getting at.

Like I said, I've tried to spark some discussion on the mod side of things. I tebow that it will be fruitful.

Wow, no more underboob on DL&G. I'll have to start going to the Girlfriends thread on SnipersHide.com
