I think we should be able to bid SC and get paid an extra 2hrs above guarantee if we do it. It would help those who live in base pick up some extra cash and save those who commute a few hotel rooms. Great for all.

I for one live in base and would bid to do 6 days of short call every month if I got 2hrs above guarantee for each of the six days.

According to the ALPA insiders, the average line pilot gets 85 hrs of pay each month. If that was actually true, then it wouldn't be lower.

I'd bid for 6 days of SC if I could set which days they would be. I'd rather have more than 6 if I could set where they were, what times they started and had a net 30-40 days a year off as well.

ACL, I was connecting the dots when I didn't know I was connecting dots.
Do a little research on Blackstone. DAL appears they are quite serious. I am not surprised in the least.

Connecting the dots can be so much fun!

NYC, ORD, DFW, MIA, LAX. All top 6 O&D cities (Houson is #4, I think).

Throw in the ATL, and SEA for Southeast/Northwest coverage, plus a focus city or two in corporate heavy markets, like MSP and DTW, and you've got some business wonk's wet dream of domestic hubs.

NWA's Pacific/PAA's Europe/BNF's South America. Same dream, different day for international.

But it will never happen. Don't even want it to happen, for the karma gods WILL smite you for wishing it so.

Oh, I thought that we had "NWA management" now, so all was lost for labor...
Things might look good in the ivory tower, but "Give way to Air France & Alaska, and follow the 7th RJ" is the reality for the rest of us.

Ha.

There are assets DAL want, no BS, but this could also allow DAL to test the waters and resolve of AMR's management and their creditors desire to keep AMR around or dump em. This leak is designed to get things moving.

I would also be ready for an all in and as soon as the fur ball starts DAL jumps out with ALK or another in its tentacles.

Going after AMR was going to be the first move. How the others react and what money they throw at the assets will determine DAL's next move. RA is in the drivers seat and he knows it.

Blind sided like fighting for a slot swap that went 93% to RJ's? Closed sessions are nothing more than management feeding one-sided bits of information to union officials so they will do the work that management used to have to do.

Once invited into the executive suite, union officials are hooked. Period. They will use any bit of tortured logic required to ensure they keep getting those invitations. Closed sessions are a fraud. Anytime the members don't know what their representatives know, the members no longer make the decisions and you have a top-down organization.

Oh, if you want to see bankruptcy payrates, look at USAirways and United. Guys like Carl are paid $35 bucks an hour more than their peer on the same airplane at UAL, and that's without any international override. Oh, and Carl's 23 years of pension are still there, unlike the UAL guy.
Guys like Carl are paid $80,000 less than an average SWA captain flying a domestic 737. But thanks for being consistent in stating the MEC's views on only comparing us to UAL and LCC etc., while purposefully ignoring SWA, FDX and UPS.

ALPA has been in charge of AMR's negotiations for over a year, now they are bankrupt. See a pattern?

I still find it very unlikely that the bk court will go for a major fragmentation of American Airlines when it has close to 5 Billion dollars of unrestricted cash...I haven't guessed things correctly very often (lately)...And I agree with Nu that to wish for such things would almost certainly bring very bad karma...Dal traditions notwithstanding.
