Quote: anyone commute out of BNA or CHA to atl? I'm thinking about choosing to commute since my base ain't here beyond April. I like Tennessee income tax, gun and homeschool laws. 10 flights a day on Delta in between ATL and BNA/CHA. tell me why I ought to pay Georgia income tax and put up with the traffic from Newnan. Have a great day.
I would rather have a vasectomy sans pain killers than to live in the same state as the Georgia Bulldogs... of course that is one up from living in the same state as the gators..
Quote: Hey, remember when we flew BOM-JFK in the ER's, before the first LR's? And that back-taxi and 180 turn-around at the end of the runway before they built the taxiway down there? That would be sweet if we got Mumbai back, I miss the Taj and all the great food. Not wild about 19 hours in the jet though! But when I asked Anil about it last week in Dubai, he said it's not going to happen.

He said instead, they are looking at adding a second DXB flight, but only 3 days a week, so there may be some 2 and 3 day DXB layovers coming back...ugh. There was no mention of that in the March Crew Resources update however, so maybe not?

I just did my first short DXB layover last week, barely enough time to recover from playing with the football! But it was smooth most of the ride home so I slept better than usual. Nice to have that extra day at home instead of on the road.

Hope I can keep hold of that trip. Did you see all the ICN's for next mo? That will be my 'fall back' trip if I can't get the DXB.

I know its wishful thinking on my part. I heard DAL is dropping BOM altogether because we cant compete with air india (and maybe jet airways too). Anil's crystal ball has been cloudy for awhile. I'd fly mumbai directs until retirement if I could.
Quote: OK, I've got to say it. You make me sick.
Are we divorced or something?

Quote: All this ALPA vs. DPA is a side issue.
Yes indeed. Especially since it appears that the main issue is me making you sick.

Quote: You admit you may want to stay to 65.
And what part of my post says that?:

Quote: Since I have 4 years left (til age 60), I want to try and stay 4 more years.
Or maybe this:

Quote: I'd love to take a buyout now and just focus on my business,
Did you notice that my first choice would be to take a buyout now...at age 56? The only possibility of me working past 60 is if a future bankruptcy removes my retirement. As I stated here:

Quote: but if the pension gets wrecked after I jump out early, I'd sure wish I had the opportunity to work until 65 to try and make up for the loss of my retirement plan
How can you have read my post and say that I'm admitting that I may want to stay until 65?

Quote: You are a 747 pilot. You should be able to retire at 60.
I will be able to retire at 60 as long as I don't lose my pension. Do you seriously believe that I should have no right to work past 60 if I lose my retirement plan?

Quote: You don't give a darn about us junior guys who don't have a pension and have stagnated and will never make 747 capt. You are the problem.
I voted YES to pay extra dues to ensure furloughed guys got to keep their family medical coverage. Since I'm in the top half of fNWA guys, I don't get a penny of DC funds because it has all been sent to our junior pilots to boost their DC retirements. And you say I don't give a darn about junior guys?

You really should apologize for such a rant. Senior people might think that all junior people are as entitled and disrespectful as you...and that wouldn't be good for anyone.

Carl,

I certainly hope no more pilots have their pensions slashed after they have already retired. But should that happen, I also hope that they have sufficient financial resources and find early retirement so enjoyable that they wouldn't want to go back. I did.
Some 747SP awesomeness... love the way those turbofans sound!

Quote: In two years I've gone from seniority number 9xx to number 5xx and I'm closer to the bottom now than I was six years ago.

This sure isn't working out.
I seriously have no idea how you make it to work each day without voluntarily swerving into a bridge abutment.
Quote: I'd love to take a buyout now and just focus on my business
it will be a success, no doubt! What's in the duffel bag, Carl?

Quote: I seriously have no idea how you make it to work each day without voluntarily swerving into a bridge abutment.
Lol-I was thinking the same. Maybe he keeps from doing so after reading how much better reserve is at DAL.

As bad as you guys think it is, it doesn't come close to the special level of Hades that is commuting to reserve as a DCI FO on S3C.

Perhaps you would be happier based in DTW.
