Which begs the question of why a DAL pilot commutes on DCI flights as S3C given that we own all the seats, name, and a good number of the aircraft.

OK, I've got to say it. You make me sick. All this ALPA vs. DPA is a side issue. You admit you may want to stay to 65. You are a 747 pilot. You should be able to retire at 60. You don't give a darn about us junior guys who don't have a pension and have stagnated and will never make 747 capt. You are the problem.
I'd tell Carl to plan on not seeing his pension. That means he needs to stick around for as long as he can. If he does see it, then he's beaten the odds. At the very least, he needs to stick around for the medical, such as it is. It's just good planning. It's nothing personal.
You are right, you will never make 747 Captain. DAL will have codeshared them away long before you are senior enough. You will stroke out long before that worrying about things that you cannot change.

That 747sp was awesome,it is keeping some retired ual skippers out of trouble,pt 125 out of LAS
It'll shake your heart as it passes by. Four F101-GE102 low bypass afterburning turbofan engines...fuel flow about 285,000 pph on takeoff. Definitely not designed for fuel efficiency.
