Super,
I totally agree that "IF" the no furlough provisions are kept in their current form, they will hold up. They are spelled out very clearly.
Currently the word is still no furloughs, but an important point is that they have not come out this time around and stated this as a, matter of fact. They are closely looking at our staffing needs and how they relate to three different Flight Plans going forward.
If the way they have priced tickets for this weekend and the loads are any indication, we will just have to come up with a new model to forecast with. I bet many of the commuters coming out of Dallas would have like a few more 757's this summer.

First off, what is an APA and Rd? Also if Delta cuts 76's what is the replacement for it?? The md-90's? Again flights on Saturday out of dca, iad, bwi, ric, phf, orf, gso, and rdu were all oversold all day long. How is it that we aren't making money? We are leaving dozens stranded in these cities. Doesn't Delta HQ see this... What the f over?!?

An APA is an Advanced Position Award. DAL-N does them every month and is an actual award/displacement result for 3.5 months in advance. The October APA just came out.
RD is a Return Displacee - someone who's been displaced before and is now returning to their original position.

The north side used to have a system similar to what the AE is, however it was based on marketing /ecomomic forcast that could be several months out , training could take for ever and it really didn't work for the pilot for planning purpose. Under the north APA, you bid it, you get trained quickly and start flying the aircraft....you don't have to wait around for months wondering when tng sked is going to call you in.
