Smart move. Delta will increasingly be used as a training ground while awaiting SWA, FDX, UPS and the high paying foreign airlines. Get used to it. Management couldn't care less.

I have been creeping this thread for a long time now with nothing to contribute. I just have to ask though Carl why are you so in love with SWA? Also why so much hate towards DAL? I am very close to someone who was most likely hired around the time you were at NWA and they love the new changes, mostly more than the old NWA ways... Now there are some complaints ( pay mostly but who isnt upset about that) but the rest is pretty minimal ( Sorry I do not have specifics). Regardless, as someone who someday wants to fly at DAL as my 1st choice and not SWA. I can't help but wonder what is so bad about being a 747 Captain at Delta... Sorry not really a useful post but I am very curious.

That should be a fun bid as well.

I'm seriously thinking about ATL DC9 just to bite the bullet and take the free move down to the promised land.

That's not a bad plan of action for a lot of guys. Take the move, get it paid for. In a year or two, before you have completed your lock in, there will be a MD due to the category closing. At that point, you can go anywhere you want that your seniority can hold.

The 200 + computers on the 320 are all windows based and use vista. They don't get hung up often.

I was born there while my Old Man was flying for the 82nd. Don't know what I hate admitting more, that I was born in Fayette'Nam or my Air Force ancestry!
Of course my parents were closely related, so the Navy took me immediately. Unfortunately they were not siblings, so the Marines wouldn't consider me.

Looks like a net -106 pilots in MSP. I see NYC MD-88B in my future...but I might be off reserve there.

BTW, I've flown both the 73N and A320...from a pilot's perspective, the A320 wins hands down. Legroom, retractable table, simplicity, two jumpseats...just watch out for complacency.

I'm thinking there is much more to the story.......but I'll doubt we'll ever really know.

Are you looking for a VD off of the 330? Without the "premium" widebody stuff getting displacements, it might be tougher to get that. Do you miss Saipan that much???? Just wait a couple more years, or until your 2 year training freeze is up, and then you might be a lot more senior on that 330...

No it doesn't! The recirc fans are loud and it's not a Boeing!
