It's crude, but true. Maybe you went to the prom to dance, but I went to "get some...". Same with flying, maybe you do it because you enjoy travel. I want to be paid very well. And I agree with the others when they say ALPA won't last if it takes 5 more years for a new contract. We don't want to rush, but we do want a group to push our needs and wants, not drag it out and then give in. Let's hope ALPA and management come up with something satisfying for us in a timely manner. Management has some sort of future plans for merging or expanding. Let's all take advantage of that.

Never said the airplane itself was profitable. All I said is that it is not yet "dead".
Ha. Okay. I agree. APC is off too. There aren't 850+ 50 seat rj's flying around for US legacy operators. More like 100, and they just follow me everywhere i go. New fangled crowdsourcing wiki technology, can't trust that gee-wiz stuff! And its not fox news, so it must be wrong! That dang Anonymous guy must be making up fleet numbers and editing 15 different airline wikipedia pages again.
That APC updater guy needs to update his numbers too, hey you're a moderator drop him a line! Tell the guy there aren't 850 50 seaters.

FTB,
I know you're one funny guy, but "Buddy" passes to MCO during Spring Break? That right there is some seriously mean stuff.
Spoke to a gate agent there many months ago and she said there really was no "good" day to non-rev to from MCO except maybe Wednesday and that was for S-2/3.
The another possibility on misconnect could be the atrocious security lines there.
Hope they make it.

It was my neighbor, their daughter was in a cheer leading contest down there. One of those travel team kind of things, it was last moment "we're all going to Disney World!" I said take the buddy passes and go, better than driving. The flights were open. They made it in and out. Plus, she used to be a reservation agent for United, she knows the drill with non-reving. Easy to deal with and self sufficient.
But like I mentioned before, seeing the nonrevs assigned seats 10 prior to push and then all of that erased, what a mess. I agree with Hockey about the get it right who cares if its D+1 but we all know how that's viewed. They made their second flight going and third coming back.
Still, like I mentioned with the PHF-ATL flight I did in January, that checking in early and not showing really screws over everyone else.
Put it this way, what if your nonreving with your family and 10 prior they assign 5 first class seats to the 5 people ahead of you. You get middle seats in the back and board. Meanwhile, 5 prior to push they realize those people aren't here, oh well, they'll just go empty.
I know, the fiction part about first class being available, but what if?

Your posts used to be somewhat insightful, and even useful.
For whatever reason, you've degenerated into name-calling and personal attacks without regard for the validity of many widely held opinions you so vehemently object to. Your credibility is shot.
But don't let that stop you from flaunting your arrogance.
TSquare--a legend in his own mind.

That right there is some funny $h!t!! Someone who has a total of 255 posts on this forum. Has been called out by everyone, to include a moderator or two, about having a bad attitude and they're "dropping dimes" on someone else for having no substance. You're killing me PIG MAN!!

Looks like I'll finally get consolidation complete (100 hours in 120 days after training). Last time I got a trip by asking the Chief Pilot's Office for help. Today I called them here in MSP and they said they got in big trouble for doing it...they said the proper procedure was to call the CPSC. The CPSC has a guy working a stack of consolidations, and I was in the stack. Really don't want to go through training again for at least a year if I have any choice in the matter.
Now back to your regularly scheduled arguments.

Seriously??? Management has been saying this since 2000. As a matter of fact management says this while they are walking into a meeting to order more RJs.
I hope its true - and some smaller RJs may be leaving but just look at what is actually happening (LGA Expansion) before believing anything management has said or supposedly says.

Management does not want the 50 seaters gone. They are reducing the number of them in service to match the markets they can fly them and make money. With the increase in fuel prices the number of markets the aircraft is suited for have dropped but they are not all gone. You will still see CRJ50's flying for Delta in 2020. In 1991 when the DC9's were retired we were told they were not viable with fuel prices over a 1 dollar a gallon. They are still here today.

Gents,
I was asked a question about Delta's QOL that I didn't know how to answer.
Can a lineholder pilot pick up a trip out of base?
Say a pilot is based in DTW on 7er and really wants once in a while go to Madrid, where he has parents serving a religious mission.
How can he pick up a 7er MAD trip out of JFK?
1. GS out of base - is self explanatory, but very rare.
2. White slip? ... never mind I see it is possible on PCS ...
3. Take it (if advertised) from swap board?
4. Swap with the pot?
Thank you.

The 50 is dead. Wall Street would turn a major into a martyr if they signed a long term 50 seat contract.

Did the DC-9s all go away yet? How many times has that been planned on a 10-k?
William Shatner is still alive. But you wouldn't call him dead yet, right?
If you think the 50 will be "dead soon" - then say that. Saying the 50 "is dead" while nearly 900 of them are currently flying is wholly inaccurate.
