I don't believe this is a coincidence.

Seems like a diversion.

"Pay no attention to this sh!tty proposed contract! We've got more planes!" maybe
So you're implying that DALPA set up the tweet by someone from ISTAT?

What's interesting is that anyone would listen to Holly Hegeman.

I think you're saying this is what happened. Correct?
Yep, as it was told to me, they have gone past the date, and are only removing those that they have made contact with.

we also have to be hiring for anyone furloughee's to return, so really anyone not back yet is taking a gamble... 14 years is coming up quicker than signs of any hiring.

Additionally, guys who went on long mil leave after the recall should all have pretty much hit the 5 year limit for mil leave now. It's a complicated can of worms there, with different types of orders not counting towards the 5 years (but those were rare and hard to get after 2007), but in general most mil leave folks from the furlough will have exceeded their "normal" recall times now also. Not hoping anyone ill, but just like to be able to predict with some accuracy how many of those 240 furlough and 140 mil leave or more are actually still out there waiting to flow back in above me

As a furlough and mil leave guy, I'd concur with the accuracy of the company posting actually.

Don't forget, there was a four year extension to the recall after the merger. If you stated that you wanted to return prior to the ten year point you will have one chance to accept recall if the company hires before the 14year point. You may not see those names drop until the next round of hiring.

How many seats does the DC-9 have? What about the B717? Even swap? New DC-9 base in ATL?

Both very good. Easy to carry and they are a precise summation of our manuals. Author will email you updates to make corrections in your study guides as Delta makes revisions. He sells a kindle version, but does not look like a very good porting of his work. Every so often he will re issue both guides. I always buy them and carry them with me. In the sim you are not allowed to use them, must use our manuals. Highly recommended.

FWIW:

DC-9-10 : 78 seats
DC-9-30: 100 seats
DC-9-40: 110 seats
DC-9-50: 125 seats

AT 717 : 117 seats

All two class...

Good Point - but even if its 100% true, it does not mean squat until they are painted in DAL colors and being flown on the line by DAL Pilots. Delta has purchased many planes - some in recent years, only to turn around and lease them or sell the leases, and generally pull whatever accounting shenanigans it took to get rid of them.

I think it would be great to get some growth aircraft but if the company wants aircraft they will buy them - this should have ZERO affect on our negotiations.

I repeat - until we DAL Pilots have our Butts in the seats of these or any other rumored, discussed or even fully purchased aircraft, it is meaningless - and even then it is 100% independent of our negotiations.

When it comes to our management and aircraft acquisitions - Don't trust and then verify.

I will leave you with this farfetched, yet possible thought. DAL could purchase these planes put them in service, take a mainline fleet snapshot affecting our RJ's numbers and then get rid of them or other mainline aircraft - and I believe the allowed RJ numbers do not adjust down. Probable- Hell No! But disturbingly - allowed per our stellar Scope.
