That last one is flat out false. SWAPA has never put Scope on the bargaining table,
The ONLY good point here is that our local reps say that they'll not ratify anything brought to them with scope sales. Do we believe them? Unfortunately, we have no choice now. Our only choice will be to vote down the TA which (I believe) will have further scope erosion in it. Carl |

Someday, maybe we will all graduate to Ferdness.:D http://saipanexplorer.com/wp-content...1/05/gods1.jpg |

You might be reading it wrong. Why do you assume scope concessions?
Couldn't that sentence mean scope improvements are on the bargaining table. That's still "conceptual" and provides plenty of "flexibility". When it comes to pay, we have no problem saying that its on the bargaing table and we're demanding it go up significantly. Why can't we make the same strong directional statements with scope? The closest we come is "improve the production balance" but that depends on what the definition of what a production balance is. It "could" mean nine more 76 seaters for every ten 50 seaters that are going away anyway? Who knows. For pay, increase means up. For RSV guarantee, increase means up. Vacation credit and accrual? Up. How much will everything go up? That's to be determined, which is why its conceptual, but scope is the only item that the actual intent of our bargaining is left entirely vague. Why? Does anyone have any inside sources at ASA or CMR that could wikileak us what our MEC told their MEC's at the uber secret meet and confer scope summit that the DL line pilots aren't allowed to know? Also, I wonder if we met and conferred with the Alaska MEC just to cover our rear ends when they sue if we dared to tighten up that scope as well? Or maybe because of the threat we're not trying to tighten it up. |
Wow
Went to bed last night, woke up, grabbed a cup of coffee and "Latest & Greatest" got ugly. We all work for the same company right? I value the different perspectives and multi-opinions of all the pilots at Delta. I have yet to fly with any pilot that does not want what is best for us all. Just want to emphasize that last point. DALPA has the keys to this 2012 contract negotiation. Good bad or indifferent it is a fact. Trying to read between the lines and force each other and DALPA to negotiate in mass and in public is quite silly and counter productive, but going after each other is down right stupid. Certainly not my experience on the line at Delta. Respect is really all that is needed and a modicum of civility. Let's let DALPA do their job, we all know they are on notice. Just sayin!:) |

It's quite clear to me that some of the usual ALPA suspects (you included) are screaming DPA when nobody is discussing it but you. Apparently you think you can get mods to remove posts that you don't like by screeching about how sick you are of DPA stuff when YOU are the main one mentioning it. I wonder if this tactic will work for you. Carl When that issue is forced, external forces and the situation we find ourselves will make it crystal clear to the 12K plus pilolts hat DAL as to what we need to do/have. Then this issue will be resolved. For now, sit back, and enjoy the show. In my own opinion, it's like observing the W. Houston saga. Our current Bargaining rep. started with great promise and success. Then, Like Whitney, they got involved with their B. Brown - the RJ. It was like crack cocaine to them as we now can see in the numbers and variety of airlines that are represented. What a hot mess there now is. We all knew what was going to happen to Ms. Houston before it actually did. Probably the same story here, and, if this bargaining rep is replaced, eventually the replacement will follow a similiar lifecycle over time. |

Check & 1067,
That makes sense, and maybe I was reading too much into it. Thx Carl seems to think "superior" vs. "industry leading" has great meaning. Maybe. Reading tea leaves is fun but we just have to wait and see what's in the TA. Meanwhile, I've studied the issue carefully and even called my reps, and its my opinion that Jennifer Love Hewitt is really pretty -- http://topnews.in/files/jennifer-love-hewitt4587.JPG |

I don't think DPA will get a big push until after the contract.....if its successful, they'll go away; if its not, they'll have more then enough cards to supplant ALPA (IMHO). Guys are really keen to this contract resolution, at least the ones I fly with. If it goes south, katy bar the door.
