This wannabe newbie is still following the thread hoping to network and learn what my fellow peeps are doing to receive the invite to interview. Hopefully those that are getting interviews, fix it e-mails and hired chime in. I really appreciate those who have. I'm going to OBAP in August to meet face to face with Delta. Anyone else planning on attending? Also what's your take on airlineapps including other time for the mil types on the app? I didn't include it in my total time or PIC though during some of my other time I signed for the jet. Am I shorting myself PIC time?

I received a fix-it email. It came from Airline Apps (for Delta). They needed me to fill in a gap in work history (I missed the part about "from HS on"). I did that immediately and received the invite a month later (to the day).

Nothing against anyone but I have to ask, since the only extra curricular I had in HS was football and after college I had a 2 year employment gap. Am I going to be washed out of the interview process before it even starts?

You will want to think outside the box a little bit on this. Have you done any volunteer work, charity, etc... If you have kids you may have helped in the classroom or spoke at career day. Did you do scouts as a kid? If you were in the military look back at your performance reports for community service stuff. Even stratifications such as "#1 of XX officers/pilots/CGOs". You probably have stuff that you haven't thought of in a while.
If you don't have any other stuff I don't think you will be "washed out" of the process. The "extra curricular" stuff is a discriminator when all other things are equal. What I mean is, if you have the same pilot credentials as another candidate; but, the other candidate was an Eagle Scout, he will get scored higher on the application.
Good luck!

So not playing school sports because I lived in BFE and had to work on the farm is a negative? Working to get through college looks worse than having parents pay for it and having time for clubs and sports?
Hearing this is just plain frustrating.
