I know a lot of guys, myself included, are trying to figure out where to fit guard / reserve initial training into the schedule. Would 3 weeks of mil leave put you in a bad spot if you did it following IOE? At what point do you trigger needing to go back to ATL for more sims?

Thanks.
Figure you'll be done with OE within 3 weeks of finishing sims. That will be a min of 35 hours. You would then need another 65 hours to get consolidated. Can't speak for all fleets, but most things you'll get as a new hire...you shouldnt have a problem blocking that in any given 4 week period (at 5.15 hours a day, you're only talking about 13 days of flying).

So taking 3 weeks mil leave in the 120 days after your checkride shouldn't be a problem at all. But keep track of your hours.

It has taken me almost to the 120 days before though when sitting reserve which is nerve wracking. No one should ever do two checkrides on probation if they can help it. I did minimal mil until I got my 400 hours to get off probation and even less until I was consolidated (without going non current or making anyone mad at the unit) just my two cents. Of course I got ALL my requirements done before training so I could put it off a while. Being off probation is huge, anyone who says otherwise hasn't had bad things happen to them on probation...it's not fun wondering if your job is at stake

Consolidation took me 44 days on the 737. I'd wait until after.

Thanks. If that holds true maybe I'll be in Indoc in late September. Definitely later than the July mentioned during the CJO but I still work for Delta. 😀

Briefed today that 6 July class is 17, 20 July is final at 30 and all calls for that class have gone out. "They" assured plan for 2015 is still 1,000 pilots (almost 600 through the door already so far) and another 1,000 next year.

From the Delta Hiring thread for Badger's spreadsheet. Looks like no off-the-street interviews during week of 6/15.
