Did they say total or ots hires? Ots hires makes sense but total would mean about 5 ots hires a month with the 20 compass flows and ~15 ssp per month until November when the compass flows stop

Guys,

I am about to recommend someone for a DAL Pilot job. The way I understand it is that I give him my Delta E-mail and he submits that and the company contacts me on my e-mail for my recommendation - is this still valid?

Anything else that I should be doing that can help someone get an interview?

Thanks Scoop

Short answer is not necessarily. If you want to write a recommendation within the application they will send you a recommendation request from Airline Apps to the email of your choice. You will fill it out and submit. It doesn't have to be from your delta.com email.

If you want to send a recommendation to the hiring panel then you initiate it by sending an email to the pilot selection panel from your Delta.com address and make sure that you include the name and email that the candidate used on their application so they can score the correct Jane Doe application.

There's an air apps way...

There's also an alternate way on deltanet under the pilot selection tab. My understanding is the alternate way gets your friend scored quicker.

I remember the company asking us to send the recommendations in via both methods.

Falcon/Scambo/Flyboy,

Thanks for the help. Feel free to post anything else that you can think of that help.

The key for me was the insider email to the hiring committee. Once that was sent, I received an automated email that night that there had been an insider request to score my app, and that as a courtesy to their current employees the committee would score it within a month. 5 days later I had an interview invite.

I don't think it matters how many as long as one of your internals sends in the email to trigger the scoring. The rest can all just be an airline apps one. You can only be scored once every year according to our indoc briefing per the email method. As always, ymmv.

At Indoc OC said on the rec just write, "I recommend john smith". He said they don't care what else you say. If a delta pilot recs another dude that is good enough. Bottom line don't waste 2 hours drafting a letter. Make sure their app is perfect too because it will only get scored once...

The only thing about the short simple rec is that the guy you are trying to help out gets to read it on airlineapps and might think you're not helping them out. Might just want to let them know that the short blurb is all that is required.
