Couple that with the ability to utilize sick leave to care for eligible family members, and MSP will always be a backwater, stagnant, ultra-senior base. If you don't live there now...find a way to drive to work in ATL, NYC or SEA. Ymmv

As unfortunate as that MSP post sounds, I'm still gunning for it. Are there still B76's up there? I know they have the 7ER category, but curious what that actually means as far as international wide bodies originating in MSP.

New Hire Drop
I live in BHM and want to keep it that way, so I'm looking to get ATL based asap and start a drive to work routine.
1. In the event that I am not awarded ATL out of the gate, which aircraft will bid quickest to ATL? 2. Other than ATL, which base is most easily commutable via BHM (either mainline or connection)? |

Living in domicile is likely the single best thing you can do for your QOL... Absent that, a reasonable drive into base is the next best thing! As to #1, past performance does not ensure future results... but the MD88, 717 have proven to be short waits to get to ATL with both being awarded to folks in indoc recently. The 73N has not been far behind it historically. YMMV As to #2, probably NYC, but you will likely connect through ATL. From ATL there are >30 flights a day to the NYC area on mainline. From BHM there are just 3/day to NYC and 3/day to DTW direct, and none to MSP, and it's all RJ's. Good Luck |
