Perhaps the MEC after doggedly following the process through months of direct and redirects came to the point where, despite shortcomings in the product, understood that nothing more could be squeezed out of management until they had the authority to finalize a deal.

Perhaps what was squeezed, or not, with the green light, does not meet the minimum standard of the majority. Did the NC bring back anything more after they got the go ahead?

Like the most of us I'll judge the deal in its entirety. We'll know soon enough.

In a sense, I don't disagree with you, but everything can't be addressed in a survey or even via input when it comes to a "fix" that will be a concession. Until the membership is actually briefed on 23g5, sick leave, scope etc, there is no way for the reps to know how much of a show stopper they are. Does the company lose credibility and should not be trusted since they only agreed to the 23g5 fix a few years back and now want to change it with deep scheduling ramifications? One only need to look at CDO's to see how polarizing a concession can be.

Not knowing for sure how EXACTLY final direction to "get a TA" went, fault could lie with the NC, or the MEC could have misjudged the show stoppers? (with what I now consider to be credible rumors). If they truly have a concern that it will be voted down by the membership, and I believe if the value is where it is and the rumored "fixes" are what they are, it is a real possibility, maybe rejecting it and finding more palatable fixes might be in order.

I am certainly not saying the path is clear if a MEC rejection takes place, but I hope we are not in a position where any TA that comes back must be passed by the body, especially if there was not a VERY specific consensus on what had to be in the agreement when the MEC sent them back in. (Based on your account of the events)

Guys, clearly Sharpest Tool is MOST concerned with the possibility of our MEC saying NO as making management mad. Or making management park us forever. Or management otherwise thinking ill of us. Now he's starting all the false choices of what it CAN ONLY mean if our reps send this TA back.

He's very afraid, which you can clearly hear in his posts. Why he's so panicked over the possibility of our reps sending the TA back is an open question.

I feel like you folks are in an incredibly fantastic position with a TA forthcoming so quickly but I'm curious as to what is the perceived rush to end negotiations so quickly unless you have reached every perceivable goal for the work group? A TA reached this quick means at least both sides are in the ballpark as to an agreement which will reach ratification. I get the time/value of money argument but is the general consensus reach an agreement immediately or you won't see another for years even when you're this close?

Lastly, there seems to be an abundance of new posters with relatively small post counts all hard charging the union view that this deal should be taken immediately or the union will be parked indefinitely. Is this the norm? It seems that normally you guys have a relatively finite group that posts all the time and are somewhat known quantities as to where their loyalty lies. Is this influx of new union talking point supporters the norm? Do they come back every few years when an agreement in the works and then disappear until next time?

Good luck to you guys and gals, I truly hope you can achieve the very best contract possible for your members.
Yeah shoe, it's really common at contract time. Most of the new names and others like Sharpest Tool are either not pilots at all, or are working at the behest of management in a corporate psychological ops campaign. Our management has hired the former founder of Ford & Harrison (Michael Campbell) to lead the psy-ops campaign. Sharpest Tool and the others are simply here to wage the psy-ops campaign on all social media.

They only come out during contract season.

Letter to MEC.

We cannot afford to be afraid.

Over 70 years ago Napoleon Hill wrote Think and Grow Rich. It is more popular today than it was back then. Andrew Carnegie suggested Napoleon interview the most successful men in the world. And he did.

What did he find? What was the key to success?

The single common thread? Being fearless.

Management has run a campaign of fear to perfection.

Are you afraid if we don't accept this deal we will have to wait 3 years for another?

It is all a game and they are the masters.

What if Orville and Wilbur were afraid? Is Elon Musk afraid? Paul Revere? Dave Behncke? Thomas Edison? Steve Jobs?

Where would we be today if these men were not fearless?

You would be riding to the MEC meeting on horseback and you certainly would not be pilots.

Time is on our side and the Delta pilots are in no rush. Join together and abandon your fear.

Accepting this deal will be the biggest regret of your lives. Stand tall, reject this TA. Go in and get us the deal we all expected. The deal we so richly deserve.
