Negotiators' Notepad 15-04 - Sick Leave
#21
I am still curious if it's true that the company changed the way the count sick leave usage after C12. It used to be that you called in sick 1-4 had 5-7 off and called in well on 8 for a trip on 9 they counted that as 21 hrs or 4 days. I've read but can't confirm that now if you do that they count that as 8 days missed. If that's true then no wonder it's up 30%. Any shills wanna answer that question?

And finally, a QHCP certificate must provide a description of a pilot’s sickness and an estimated return to work date.

I guess I don't get it? If I fly my trip and the reserve pilot stays home. We both get payed. If I call in sick and the reserve pilot flys my trip we both get paid. No money is ever lossed. It's a wash. So why the big deal for delta. Bottom line we get 270 hours yr. if your sick use it!

I know I know, someone is going to say what about a WS or GS to cover the trip..........to which I respond, not my problem. Should have hired sooner.
