And the pbgc payouts???

Sailing.....have you bothered to read their annual report? They are going broke.

The db plan was a ponzi scheme....the fact it has been transferred to the pbgc didnt change that base reality.

Quote: He has an agenda. He is selling. He does not deserve to put out his stance. He is doing what he is supposed to do so that he can climb the ladder (In the future, again, you will see him in some sort of ALPA or MNGMT position). Most pilots do not see his dishonesty. I read right through him.

Trust me T! I have been in the sales and marketing game a long long time. Much of what you see, is text book psychological strategy. It is text-book but most pilots will not know. I will give you one example: "I was a NO vote in C2012 but after thinking long and hard, I am now a YES vote."<---This statement arouses the NO voter and makes him really question his NO vote. Trust me.

Again, If this thing passes, I will blame him.

Then you need to blame the DPA gang too, because they undoubtedly have an agenda in addition to dividing the pilot group.

There are agendas....and then there are 'agendas'.

If i really try.....i can imagine a reality of having been more poorly served by a collective bargaining agent since the start of my airline career....but only if i reeeaalllyy try.

And im kinda tired right now.

Quote: Sailing......do you mean the note and claim money the goverment took 40% in taxes?

Because alpa was too freaking stupid to have previously installed language in the code to except insolvency offsets for pension failures?

THAT note and claim????
Yes, the same money many here who are anti ALPA claim will pay them more then the old pension. I made some less then stellar investment choices and still will recoup 80 cents on the dollar if I leave at 60. If you did not avail yourself of the Roth option or the follow on tax free rollover option what can I say. Maybe a quote from Forest Gump?

You have a different group of retired friends. The ones I know seem to be doing quite well. One did sell the boat he kept in the med because non reving to Europe in the summer as a S3b was getting to hard.

Sailing.....you do realize those non alpa rubes over at apa managed to protect the rollover of their accrued retirement benefit through the bankruptcy process?

I will guarantee they are not the Pre-72 crowd, and if they have means, they sure did not get it from Delta. Even if they had a million dollar payout, which is remote, 4% is $40,000 + $18,000 in S/S before taxes. Living on $58,000 a year puts you in Hapeville. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.) Don't spray paint daisies on a bad condition.

Secondary thought: There was no lump payout prior to '92, how do you think those guys made out?

Quote: No it's not. Richard kept it OFF the table when he offered industry leading rates. Whether we turn those down or not is irrelevant. If this gets to the NMB, his position will be "I offered them industry leading rates, six months early, with an industry leading profit sharing plan, and an industry leading contract". And our response will be, "we want more because we deserve it.

No chance we'll ever be released with a package any where near what he's offered still on the table.
Why are you a Delta Pilot? With clairvoyance like yours, you should be a multi millionaire.

What you say is all pure speculation and your opinion. You have no knowledge of what will happen if the TA is rejected.
