Do we have 5th freedom rights with Brazil?

Brazil is in recession. Tickets bought BY Brazilians right now are very expensive. Growth into/out of there will be slowing if not outright retrenching. DAL cannot fly GRU to PVG with originating passengers. It's called 5th freedom rights, and we don't have them. GOL might get 350s and do it however.Originally Posted by DogWhisperer

If you read the airbus purchase agreement from November, its tough to do because so much is redacted, there is the possibility Delta finances their new WB fleet. The exhibit is part of the 2014 10-K full filing not the press release.

So what is our protection against this? Anything? Would we have been protected in C15? I don't know these answers, but would be interested in hearing them. GOL and Skymark might be plan B and I have no idea if there is any actual danger there.Originally Posted by notEnuf

It is possible that ta15 was laying the groundwork to make these transactions more lucrative to delta. I would speculate strongly that our pilot group is more protected under c12 language.Originally Posted by BenderRodriguez

However, if the MEC in full retrench mode does an loa on these two companies or a sweeping scope deal for dal, I would say also that it might be time to pretend we are Chicago teamsters. That would be circumstantial evidence of wrongdoing.
