Sure it does tsquare. DAL stock performed exactly like the SP500 on the day of the NO vote. That's "why" the stock moved up. The vote had no role in the stock's performance. Wall Street gave a unanimous yawn.

BobZ....very well said.
And several of the younger Alpa YES reps have seen this play out and aspired for the same path and payout. Apparently selling out your pilots that trusted you and elected you can be a lucrative business if left unchallenged by their constituents. They are the next generation of Moak disciples 2.0 thirsty for greater wealth under the auspice of volunteering to represent pilots. I will give Moak credit in one area though....at least he was original. Constructive engagement....that guy was slick. Lee left the bank with a truck full of money and the rest of his minions that helped enrich him just got pinched. Off to the clink boys....enjoy the line. |

Yeah and I guess the rejection of cost neutral  contract had nothing to do with it at all?

I don't think it did have anything to do with it.

I keep hearing about the cushy deal that is Alpa work. Can somebody who has done that work explain it to me. I've been a senior management guy in business and in the military. The only thing that kept me sane was flying. Am I missing something or is it just the way I'm wired.
Anybody willing to explain it to you probably was not one of the guys getting the cushy deal over there at ALPA. They were a low level grunt. The "cushy" deal guys are the ones that don't want to come back to the line and will pry on to ALPA with a death grip. And they will also tell you how much easier we have it flying the line. From most of your posts I would infer that you are a sane guy who gets it.....its the wiring of the other guys that is the problem we face now. |

DAL stock was up 4-5% hours before the vote even closed as well as most of the airlines yesterday. I received the Donayelli email at about 2:30 thereabouts and the stock didn't move much the rest of the afternoon to close. I have to admit I thought Wall Street cared a bit more about us than that...hurt my feelings. ;)
An analyst or anyone saying DAL was up on the news of the TA rejection was not paying much attention yesterday. Either that or they have an agenda. |

As for the E-190, again, we have a current pay rate and that rate is a windfall for the company compared to the TA rate. I realize the TA rate was most likely increased/banded (sizeably from.C2012) to make it relatively palatable to mainline pilots so that more experienced F/Os would bid Captain on it but, what is it that prevents the company from going forward with the acquisition of either airframe? I just don't see the relationship between TA ratification and airframe.acquisition in this case. One earlier post (on another thread?) stated that RA said if no TA then $$ would have to be expended refurbing RJs tather than on acquiring the E190s and 739s. Again, I fail to see the causal relationship. In line with this, I guess the stock popped almost 5% because we just became 8% cheaper for the near future? |
