Quote: I know I'll get pilloried for this, but is it fair that we use negotiating capital for the LCA bidding rule that ONLY benefits a few hundred senior F/O's? Think about it dispassionately. Is it "fair" that senior F/O's can "bid LCA" lines month after month and stay home and or bid GS and we all "pay" for it? And massive training won't stop for years. That is a windfall for a small % of pilots that might not warrant such emphasis. Philosophically, I see the company's perspective and in light of the industry average on this (apparently UAL and AA are the same as the TA language or worse) how can we make this such an important issue. Call me selfish, but now after the failure, I don't see this issue as a must retain item. Fire away.
In essence it's not about the "good deal" of a few hundred. It's 100% about disregarding seniority.

What if TA 2 had a reverse of the same concept and all LCA awards were run first, then they run the remaining trips for the rest of the captains?

It is.........

The problem is that no one will be able to bid on those trips which will send some people back to reserve. How would you like part of your available trips to be withheld so LCA can get them? It is throwing all F/O s under the bus not just the senior guys.

Its simple: No concessions, None.

The cascade effect of all those trips disappearing from PBS has an impact on all but the top 4ish%.

1) Pay raises 15%/10%/5%/3% retroactive to 12/31/2015
2) Sick leave - same except eliminate the verification process except the most extreme cases (out 30 days or more for example)
3) Profit sharing remains unchanged (2.5B vs the BS 6B)
4) Vacation = pay us what we loose, touching trips
5) Retirement increases by the following: 1% 2016, 1% 2017

Those are the big issues I have. The rest can be hammered out. Absolutely don't pay 190 guys less than seat equivalent rates to the 717. Get some balls on the code share thing.

And oh yea, fix the other $1.5B concessions we likely gave to get a $1.1B "improvement."

Prior to TA2 ... 1st order of business is to RECALL the ALPA reps that submitted this POS TA to membership. We can no longer allow the ATL P2P groups to lie straight to our faces AND collect 'flight pay' with our dues money. Its going to take a lot work for ALPA to fix this pathetic TA. The current ALPA reps are not capable nor trust worthy. Historic changes for Delta pilots... the future is bright if we stay united my friends. Management will no longer assume Delta pilots will blindly accept the first offer... times have changed. Recall now!!!

And just in ATL on the MD88 their are approx. 50 LCA. When training is going strong like it has for last 1.5 years those LCA do almost every trip as an IOE with training. So can you imagine how many lines will be withheld from bidding? Each LCA has about 4-5 trips on his line...Huge concession for FO's and one of the main reasons almost all FO's voted NO.

Oh here's an idea for the LCA trip pulls: We give the co. one month of 50% trip pulls once in a rolling 365 period 2X in a 1095 day period. For every 2 months that aren't used they get to put 1 month in the bank. Then we will let them use 2 months of bank for 1 month of trip pools. Very simple.(TIC)
