But wait, there's more. RA and the gang just keep giving the middle finger to the pilot group. Respect lost.

If he goes through with refurbishing 50 seaters it's a power play and not a wise business move. It brings into question his leadership.
He could have agreed to a fair contract and had all the troops rowing together with backpacks on bringing a JD Power award next year. Instead he's letting personal pride and desire for a lopsided agreement sour everything for a long time.
All the legacy carriers are making record profits. Anderson gets credit for his part in consolidation as that has brought pricing power. Beyond that, anybody with common sense can make money at the legacies now (with or without fuel refineries). Smisek and Parker are also minting money.
Anderson's legacy as a leader will soon become permanently tainted if he keeps going this direction. The shine is wearing off. People matter....not just saying they matter as some useless token during an earnings call. Actions show you care about your employees. Anderson could be the guy everybody loves while running a great airline. After he retires will he be known as that guy that pushed a merger then horded money instead of that special CEO everybody respected? I'm sure he doesn't care Rant over.

Yes really. Restore your pilots before blowing money out every which way.
After insulting the pilot group with a concessionary TA, management continues their other airline equity buying spree and now sending more money out the door in the form of increased dividends.
Restore the f-ing pilots! Divide the spoils after that. It's the right thing to do and it's the right time to do it.

But at least we showed 'em we have a backbone for whatever that's worth.

Contrary to what you and many others think, the world does not revolve around us, and no amount of bloviating will make it do so. They are running a business, and as so many here are fond of saying, "playing chess". We moved, and now it's their turn. They are way ahead of us. Still. And they are going to return money to the owners whether you like it or not. They are not going to give all those billions to us no matter how long we continue to say no. You want to be restored? Great. I do to, but I am not naïve enough to believe that by saying no at every opportunity that it is magically hoping to happen one day. They have the RLA, and as long as that exists, we have a contract and cannot do anything about it until released. You think we have a case for better with an arbiter? Make it. I'm anxious to hear it.
But at least we showed 'em we have a backbone for whatever that's worth.
