You will not find very many people on this forum that have good things to say about ALPA.

I'm personally a bit neutral, but become much more favorable when I consider the (lol) alternatives.

A+ for demonstrated mastery of understatement.

Something is leaky around here.

What barking seal doesn't seem to understand is the PS threshold @ $2.5 billion vs. the raise to $6 billion in TA1 combined with falling oil prices.

Barking seal fails to realize that every $.01 drop in Jet A saves DAL $40M/year in fuel costs. Put another way, DAL EARNS an extra $40M/year in profits for every $.01 saved...with C2012 PS threshold @ $2.5B, not C15's $6B.

THAT is what will force RA back to the table.
No matter what the level of profit the reduction in profit sharing can never be more then 5.74%. I am not sure how exactly that forces the company to give us much larger raises then the 22.5% in the TA. (21.5+1% dc)

Ah, but you are ignoring the implications of the company being able to change definition of the pot of PS money. That would surely alter your claim.

However, na15 is dead.

If DAL were not making profits, would they be asking to take more profit sharing? If they need it back, it's worth a lot more than the negotiated rates. Monitize it sufficiently and add cost of living. Otherwise, leave it alone and negotiate outside of profit sharing. I'd be interested to see their "real" pay rates in that scenario.

Exactly! Why don't people get this? Don't fund pay rates with PS!

Yeah. We can turn the elections into a popularity contest. Worked so well for the APA.
