Hank is right. The company and the union overreached and underestimated the pilots. They overreached on across the board concessions on scope and work rules and underestimated the pilots to not only vote no but to vote no even with a small and immediate pay raise in front of them.

Question,if we are sick, are we allowed to call in anymore? Say you have an ear the wont unblock after every descent you can't stop sneezing but yet you could work in an office or at home all day problem.just flying a jet is difficult.
Is it sick abuse to call in sick because your condition makes it difficult to act as a pilot or pilot not flying but you could work in an office with a box of tissues by your side?

This is why we cannot compare our sick leave to the rest of the working world, it's just not apples to apples.
To be perfectly honest, we need to increase our sick leave. If they try to reduce the 100 hours it's an instant NO for me.

That's the thing, we can't pop an Alkaseltzer cold and head into the cockpit but that'd be just fine in an office. We have to be 100% to fly.
