BTW, I'm doing so many 88 runs on the 717 now. which seats 110. Not 149 or 160.
The E190 will seat, what? 98? Not much smaller than the 717. So if the 717 can replace the 88, so can the E190 right? Hopefully the NC recognizes it. |

RA loves small airplanes which brings the yields up, but not the best to compete with other airlines if they have larger aircraft. Until they place and order to replace 88 with a320/737 this E190 thing is scary if the rates do not at least match the 717. I also hope the NC see the potential future problems too! |
When RA says he is "upgaging" DCI, what he really means is "downgaging" mainline.

The other interesting part about was reading that article on the lawsuit between delta and the 88 cockpit upgrade folks and how they felt delta had changed their mind about the 88's future and were trying to just get out of the contract.
If sailing were here he'd set the record straight. |
The smaller the gauge, the easier it is to fine tune seat count in a market. The same thing was said about the 35-50 seat RJs 15 years ago. "Frequency is what the business traveler wants" was heard routinely. Any mainline aircraft should pay what the 717 does at a minimum, period.

Still don't know what you are talking about..

I'm sure it's absolute and unwaiverable. But, if management wants you to relax it you will. I don't think people will pace back and forth to fly RJs. If you don't relax it there is no way they're gonna budge on the rates.
Funny part of it is your pilot group getting all hot and bothered to fly these airplanes when not to long ago you scoffed at pilots flying them as substandard and beneath you. Welcome to the RJ game RJ guys. |

Boy, since you don't know what you are talking about you are now 2 for 2. One of the major reasons the first TA got rejected was because of the scope relaxation exactly like what would be needed for Delta to fly these as part of the regional carriers. Right now, under our current contract the number of 76 A/C is capped (and no more room for more) and 98 seaters can't be flown anywhere other than mainline.

Any ideas on why Delta used the phase " up to 20" E-190's?
Hiring, upgrading and training pilots to support the network – including the delivery of 60 additional mainline aircraft in 2016 (4 A330-300s; 15 A321s; 19 737-900ERs; 3 717s; 19 E190s) Soooo not 20... |

Just noticed in the Jan 11th All Pilot Memo, he says:
