The Council 44 Reps wrote one in the spring of 2014 that passed the mec to present a resolution to the BOD. Delegate Committee 1 had this at the BOD in the fall of 2014. The intent was to do away with the annuity and or make the president get what the airline pilots from their respective airline get.

The next BOD is next fall. The next LEC meetings is where the ball should get rolling on this.

You all can't be serious?

deprive alpa leadership of the financial security of a dues paid pension?

O.M.G.! what if their post alpa consulting firm has a down year??? Or they find themselves in-between V.P. positions in airline management?

Oh the horror!.....

The ONLY viable reform tool for alpa is the same tool that has corrupted alpa....money

Yes. That is the process. Two C44 resolutions made it through the MEC and was (is) on the Agenda at Executive Board / Board of Directors. One was a dues reduction. National was (is) also working on the resolution which sought to modify voting procedures.

Other Council resolutions work their way up too. Just happen to have more familiarity with what goes on in my local.

You are correct. Also in November the Delta MEC passed a separate resolution which seeks to exempt dues from profit sharing.

AGENDA ITEM #AI 15-117,118,119COMMITTEE # 1

MAKER: RIESGOSECOND: MASON

MOTION # VOTE: PASSED

WHEREAS the Association is party to collective bargaining agreements setting forth the rates of pay, rules and working conditions, and

WHEREAS the Association creates its annual budget based upon known and estimated levels of employment, seniority, pay rates, and profit sharing at the carriers it represents, and

WHEREAS a Profit Sharing Plan is additional income paid to all employees in recognition for contributing to a successful operation and should remain as unencumbered as possible.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Delta MEC directs the EVP to pursue a change to the ALPA Constitution and By-Laws adding “Income received as a direct result of an employment agreement’s Employee Profit Sharing Plan” (or words to that effect) to Article IX Section 4 “Income Exempt from Dues”.

This might have an even bigger effect on ALPA National (as well.as DALPA). Wonder if they expended union dues $$ in order to file an amicus curiae brief in opposition?

All three banner ads on this page. The future has one union and multiple airlines and seniority lists under one brand, do we learn from our past? E170/175/E190/E195 fleet.

My bold prediction: Management will need to bring the flying back to mainline.
