Can DALPA members submit resolutions to change rules governing ALPA national?
For example a resolution removing the pension provision for national bureaucrats until every member that previously had a pension is fully restored. After all, isn't what's good for the goose good for the gander?

Not sure, but I think it must originate at the airline level, resolution passed by a council than sent up to the MEC level than up the food chain. If I'm wrong (distinct possibility) I'm sure a more astute person will point out the err in my answer. Great idea!

I never thought of that. Awesome.
I think we can't get that one passed, until we get membership voting for ALPA national leaders. Until then, our ALPA leadership structure is more akin to the Italian Mafia.

Either we take back control of our union (ie membership votes for leadership directly and stop national from creating their own graveytrain or we get a new union, plain and simple.
For the sake of this discussion, let's say we are able to throw the bums out at national and put some people in that fight for the everyday airline pilot, what are some resolutions we should put forth to make certain what has happened, never happens again?
Let me start:
1. Term Limits. You cannot serve at local or national for greater than 3 years without going back to flying the line for at least 3 years in between.
2. The president only gets a pension if 80% or greater of the membership get a pension.
3. Something to prevent sleeping with management we have seen with some recent leadership furthering their own personal ambitions.
4. The ALPA president does not get paid based upon an airplane not currently flying in any ALPA fleet (ie A380).
5. ?

Huge changes are needed at ALPA National. It is a huge money sucking out of control blob.
We can and will make the changes. Tim Canoll has little to no support. Either they reform or we go DPA.
No single employee at ALPA National should have a defined benefit pension until 80% of our pilots do.
The salaries at ALPA National are also out of control. They need to cut their budget 50% at a minimum and cut our dues to 1%.
Oh, and Tim Canoll needs to mention that our bankruptcy concessions are no longer needed.
Never happen. In my opinion he is the enemy and a pawn for managment.
Just my opinion.
