One big detractor of the iPad is that there is no USB port on it and Apple refuses to put one in.

Holy Cow you blasphemer!!!!! Doncha know that iPads are the best thing since the invention of the turbine engine? You fixin' to get kilt all up in here.

We tested both, the iPad was by far the best, and then we chose Surface3. The devise runs ok but jepp crashes or locks up on it regularly. It's also been more difficult to hot spot for me with an iPhone. However, I do like the full computing capability for downloading programs rather than just being limited to the App Store. iPad needs computing as well as a USB port.

Which Surface are you comparing the ipad too? Was it tested against the Surface 3 with 4GB of memory and an atom processor?

I wonder how it would perform with a Surface 3 or 4 that has 8-16GB of memory and a i3-i7 processor.

Yeah, demand is high, that's why they are discontinuing the product. What a load.

They are discontinuing the Surface 3 with the ARM processor and 4GB of memory. Surface 3 Pro was discontinued a while ago when the Surface 4 came out. Basically Microsoft is finally realizing to stop making fake Windows Surfaces (RT) and those with crappy processors (ARM).

Soooooooooooooooo.................what are we getting?
