Power failed when a sick hamster tried to run the main generator wheel, because he couldn't get a doctor's note....

And the same thing happens during every IROP for us as pilots, as well. Minimum staff to man the scheds/tracking phones means long waits for you. That's what the backpacks are for I suppose.

Just watched Ed's apology video. They had CNN and at least one other news outlet on the big screens in the OCC. Looks like they are more concerned about the public relations impact and controlling the message than repairing the operation.

Have you ever visited the OCC? They always have the major news outlets on. That's nothing new.

Default Today's Issues

So I was fortunate enough to be working today and witness how pathetic our management is under crisis. Are you kidding me, no one would answer phones, computers gave wrong info and employees were maxed out while management hid in their offices...starting to remind me of the 90's all over again...yah lets buy some more stock instead of investing in our airline, dah!!!

Staffing is barebones in all departments so that the executives can keep fattening their wallets. That's the problem!

It also doesn't help that scheduling and tracking are using technology from the 1980s and doing a good chunk of the work using pencil and paper. Pathetic!

It's after 10pm and scheduling hasn't even started awarding trips or airport standby for F/As...ATL has over 140 positions in open time for tomorrow.

Can't say that I have. The impression I got. "looks like" I'm probably not the only non-insider to notice the impression. So that makes me ask, why? Is there a reason the entire room needs to watch cable news sources together 24/7? Not my department, just curious.

Full disclosure: not ATL based, whenever I'm in that building I am concentrating on training and try to minimize my time there
