I don't think the letter from the negotiators would've been written had the SLC letter not been put out there.

My understanding is there are still a number of important things on our plate to refine and improve the contract. Explaining a vote by impugning our negotiators might not be the best way to make progress on those things, and it most certainly will cause a response by them.

Our reps (and negotiators) get paid to hash this stuff out in private at meetings. A public poo-fling suggests there's at least one who thinks the perception of not supporting a successful chairman should be addressed by hanging skiddy underwear in the front yard.

Sad. Let's move on.
The ugliness is a by product of transparency. Now that secret agendas and committee appointments are at stake there will be discourse. I prefer the discourse be public. The move away from secrecy and back room dealings is right and over due. Now, to gain support there will be a real need to define and implement a plan. The "smartest guys" don't just get a pass. If their positions are truly worthy of support they will have to explain them not shroud them in secrecy and the attitude that we would never understand.

This is going to keep the line pilot more engaged and prevent a small group coup, like what happened with TA1.

I agree with most of that and hope the learning curve will continue in the current direction.

Much like the presidential election, the increasing enlightenment revealed through more public discussion is a benefit to the masses, or 'stupid' pilots. Allowing us to make informed choices, even if we must choose 'which is the least worse choice'.

3 reps voted for themselves and each other.

Any chance there was a deal there? If there was, and it wasn't a secret back room deal, can you show me where it was posted for me to read about?

Personally I'm sick of the childish behavior from everybody. Shut up and do your job.

It's on Bartel's laptop.

Actually 4 reps voted for each other, Bell had Wheeler's proxy. Hazelton, another outgoing rep, who supported all four candidates, is now the "Transition Officer." Can someone show me in the Policy Manual what the duties of a transition officer are and does he get FPL?

If MEC members run and have like minded leanings you would expect...?

Were you not aware of the candidates and their positions? Pretty sure there wasn't any secrecy about those MEC members preferences. I think they ran as a block. Change was probably the intent similar to C44 last year. If you couldn't see that then maybe you're not paying attention. Even I saw that as soon as the candidates were announced.

Great job deciphering my morning routine. Here's more detail for you. Breakfast and dropping a deuce are in there too but have less rigidity in the schedule.
