I second that. We´re staying in the "Royal Sonesta" which used to be an Intercontinental. Can´t beat that area. Travelling time, however, can be anything from 25 minutes (right after midnight) to 45 minutes once the ´610´ gets clogged during peak hours.

Possible alternative to hotel IAH
I have a 4 bedroom 3000 sqft home 12 miles from IAH. I currently am listed on airbnb and homeaway. I have been trying to figure out he best way to market directly to you guys. I would like some feedback on this idea. I really think it is a good idea but I don't know anything about your industry, (how you get paid for hotels, negotiated rates, transport, etc). It is much more than a crashpad. It is more on par with a nice hotel and I have great feedback from guests. Plus you have a great place to hang out if you have a day or two between work.
here is a link to my listings. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks for your time.

OPs- Please forgive me for posting this here. It is not really a commercial post but a reach out to see what the best approach would be to folks in your industry.

We used to stay near the Galleria. It was nice enough with lots of stuff to do. Guys complained because we were not "downtown". So we got moved to the Club Quarters downtown. Talk about a hole! Downtown Houston is about the most unimaginative, boring, dead, city I've ever been in. I'd love to be back in the Galleria area.
