22 Months till Retirement: When to apply?
Hi Folks,
Have my sights set on Endeavor as I want to be (eventually) ATL based. My plan is to retire from active duty military the summer of 2019. When is a good timeline to begin the application process?
I have previous 121 experience and currently serving as the squadron safety officer plus C-12V IP/IE at my unit.
Any helpful advice would be appreciated!
Cheers,
G

The website still exists, and that is about all I know. My username here is pretty old, about the same time T. Rice and I put on the 2nd big APTAP meeting in Hawaii. But I will say that the Army presence is strong in the 121, 135, 91K and 91 world and most are willing to lend a hand as needed.

This. Depending on how much terminal leave you have, I would apply one month before it starts. That should get you in the pipeline about the time your TL starts so you can double dip and get the earliest sentirotu number possible. Unless you need TL for something else, of course.

From the time I hit submit on airlineapps it was about 12 hours after I got the call for an interview invite. Dates to interview were wide open - mine was about a week later. After the interview, the closest class date was 2 weeks out. I delayed 3 months without issue.
I would say if you have previous 121 and military C-12 time totaling at least 1000 hours turbine fixed wing, and you retire current in a turbine FW, I'd start aiming for a major first about 6-12 months from retirement. If you don't get a call, you can always pivot to a regional at the last minute.
