Oh I’m fairly confident of this as well. You may have misread my post but I’m in favor of this TA.

Default TA passed

For those of you that voted yes, thank you from a pilot at another regional. Hopefully other airlines will be forced to re-negotiate pay, benefits, and work rules to attract talent and the industry as a whole becomes that much better.

I’ve read other posts saying the 401k contribution increases but haven’t seen what the 401k contribution will become. Can someone fill me in on those details please?

Year 1- less than 5 ------100% match------3% of earnings
Year 5- less than 10 ----100% match------ 5% of earnings
Year 10- less than 20 --100% match -----8% of earnings
Year 20+ ----------------100% match----- 12.5% of earnings

in 2020 it will add year 15- less than 20 with 10% of earnings

Lol that's a red herring.

The previous was 50% match of 6%

Now it's 100% match of 3%

So it's absolutely no increase to the amount of company maximum contribution.

To the guys who say "but now you only have to contribute 3% to get the 3%. Congrats, the company tricked you into contributing less to your 401k. You we're saving 9%. Now you're saving 6%.

The rest of the TA is a good deal to me. And frankly I'm not mad about the 401k change... Just as someone who's done a fair share of financial planning, it bothers me that people think this is an improvement to the 401k program. Ask ANY financial advisor and they'll tell you it isn't.

Edit: I was referring to the initial contributions, not the increases with high seniority. As I'm not a 12 year Captain and don't plan on being one I haven't really looked those over. Those probably are better.
