With all the movement nowadays why not have monthly vacancies? They basically run two or more of each type of upgrade class anyways. Would allow them to better capture FOs eligible to upgrade which they seem to have a interest in what with the 950 hour change and what not. Would benefit other pilots by being more easily able to change bases.

When upgrade award to line captain is a five month process, I'd say they need to catch up on that first

The multi class bid may well be doing more harm than good right now. Under some scenarios it makes sense (like when we were merging 3 companies with effectively 7 different fleets (think fences and lack of differences) Then yes you don't want the wasteful training (that was done anyway back then) but now with things so streamlined, it makes little sense to have these type bids.
