It also keeps people sitting in crashpads around the country for no reason spending about 10% of their income, when they could be at home doing something useful until needed at Airport Ready or a call-out. I used to fly too much on reserve at another airline, but now I rarely break 10 hours a month. Would be nice to see a minimum block time while on reserve so everybody has recent experience. I just love getting in a jet at night with 6 inches of wet snow without flying for two weeks and finding the other pilot has also sat for two weeks after just finishing OE..."living the dream"! Instead of scheduling and spreading the pain, we abuse people expecting they will move up. But with stagnant movement, they quit and we wonder why.

Rant Mode: Off

Per CS own words “we’re understaffed”. Open time has been full of rsv available adds.

Because reserve is not flying, the only way to get block is to sacrifice days off for opentime, our reserve days are just Netflix at a crashpad...

In NY there are 0 900 Captains on reserve now, all of them are past their end time. No Ready Reserves were even assigned the only people they have are AVL.

There's plenty of FOs waiting for an upgrade, and plenty behind them sitting on reserve.

No TOWOP for January and credit push in some positions. 2020 is going to be a rough year. Read the junior man rules in the contract and be prepared. Hiring will not keep up with attrition and growth...in my opinion...

Blizzard in NY Wed night, maybe operational reset, but hey use exceptions to justify reserves flying 10 block a month...
