SKW
Year 1 = $33,200
Year 2 = $36,900
Year 3 = $39,600
$109,700

EDV
Year 1 = $55,100 ($50.10)
Year 2 = $53,100 ($59/hr)
Year 3 = $55,800 ($62/hr)
$164,000

(Actually higher, I don’t have the 2019 and 2020 rates handy, but they are scheduled even other than I posted)
No one will dispute EDV pays more. But a CFI right now just applying can be in OO ground next week. And be at Sprit in a year. Or upgrade and be at Delta in 2-3. Or Wait tell maybe late 2018 for a EDV interview start early 2019. Regionals need to be what they we’re back in the early 90’s. Get in get out!!!

I’m hearing, the goal is only 3 DCI carriers within that time frame. Better to have a couple around to whipsaw them against each other when the time is right.

You sir are and idiot. First year pay is more than double or triple what it was back then. Most of the regionals are flying 70-76 seat jets not 30 seat turboprops. Regionals now have a livable wage and you want to go
back. Just because your crappy airline and crappy union wont pay you industry standard pay doesnt mean the rest of us are onboard.

Negative on the union part. But that guy/gal is very kook aid soaked. I won’t go as far as to say he’s an idiot though. I just wonder how bad things will have to get over there before the pilots say enough? Right now they’re way behind the rest of the regionals in pay and quality of lif benefits. It’s like having a nice house in a bad neighborhood. You’re never going to get what it’s worth when it’s next to a really cheap house

Any DAL wholly owned is subject to being Comair-ed and all that glitters isn’t gold. I say SKW due to the incredibly short upgrades in DTW and the history of DCI carriers. But to each is his own...

Going to need a massive crash in the economy, coupled with another change in retirement age, to set up a situation that puts enough pilots on the street to allow another Comair to happen.

I was using OO as a example... insert QX/CP/...ect. Take a job now rather then wait 9-12 months of still cfi’ing

The start date is not the concern. I won't be finished with school until December this year, so not getting a class date with EDV until January '19 would be perfect for me anyway.

*IF* OO increases pay to match EDV by early next year - which I doubt - I want to know which airline would give me a better QOL in DTW. If OO decided to start paying people a livable wage, i'd be more interested. I'm just trying to figure out if I'm going to be NYC based more than I'm willing by going to EDV, or if I'll spend 5 years sitting on ready reserve at the DTW airport after upgrading to captain.

You can hold DTW right out of training at 9E. DTW is senior for captains but by the time you have 1000 hours of 121 you should be able to hold it, especially with the base growing

Junior 900 CA lineholder in DTW was hired in 2015

OO quality of life is pretty bad from what I hear and it’s more than just the pay difference.

Apply to both. Interview at both and decide. 3 years ago for me it was a tough choice and I went with OO (I live out west but Endeavor seemed to be a really good place to go and I was willing to move). Today, I would totally go with Endeavor. Things change really fast. With today’s situation, I would pick 9E but OO still is a good place to work. Best of luck.
