CVG does have a Delta 737 pilot base. But we use it to keep DTW and MSP viable bridging crews through there to the New York system so the only way I could see a base in CVG would be at the expense of closing those bases. That's why the MSP 200 base closed. Delta shrunk the distance they allow the 200 to fly to a distance less than MSP to CVG and that isolated the base and made it unviable.

$5 says whatever we open Skywest will also announce a base there within 2 weeks. If they already have a base there they’ll open a 175 base at it.

Can anyone explain why DTW and ATL 200 FO went 28 and 34 numbers more senior on 18-04 than on 18-03?

ATL had no openings in either vacancy. In that case, it's all about how many pilots leave those positions in the vacancy to make room for others (they're marked secondary). Two pilots moved out of ATL 200 FO in 18-04, so only two pilots could move into ATL 200 FO. More pilots moved out in 18-03, so more could move in at that time.

DTW had more open spots in 18-03 than 18-04.

So what does a typical new hire out of training schedule look like. Is there a mix of Hot reserve, short call, and long call? I was given CJO by PSA and GoJet (not going there) and had been planning on PSA since I live about 2 hours from CLT, in southern VA. I just got my phone interview scheduled for Monday and now I am considering EDV. Seems people are pretty satisfied in both regionals. The big tradeoff, EDV pays better but requires me to commute.

If a new hire is long call reserve then it's no big deal but if I have 19 days a month of short call or hot reserve then that changes things a bit. Not sure I want to live over half a month in a crash pad or whatever. My sister lives in southern CT so that may be an option to share a room in her place but that is about 1.5 hour drive to the NYC airports, so short reserve may work in that respect.

Please help understand expected reserve schedule of a newby out of training.

Also interested in this...As someone who is at PSA right now, if I had to do it all over again i'd go to EDV. Still thinking about it. It'll be a long time for you to hold a line in CLT and reserve is the pits. Also being that i'm from CT, you can easily get to LGA/JFK from Fairfield county in 1-1.5 hours.

As a jr reservist you'll do short call. 3 separate windows (p1,2 and 3) 5am-7pm, 10am-12am, and I believe p3 is 6pm-12am. New York is 2.5 hr call-out. You can commute in on your first day during your call-out window. 12 days off. Long call is currently 15% of reserve lines but I think we have a temporary loa that is going to raise it to 30%. 12 hr callout, your permenantly first out so expect to be called first. If your escalated to short call then your paid at 150% for anything you do while on short call. How long you sit reserve is a mystery. Was 3 months for me. For others recently it's been 8 months. You never know.
