Being realistic
I dont know what you think the union can push contractually, or negotiating wise but lemme help. Nothing in our contract, and i won't trade a penny for something we used to get for free.
The union can be nice and ask for a change back to the past practice every meeting, and that has worked given enough years. You can reinforce to your reps this should be done
You're employees of the company, not the union. If pilots reading here feel strongly then complain to the company formally. If they disagree or reply without your satisfaction, either elevate it or do what a normal employee does; punch your clock and try to leave for someplace better.
The histrionics of boats and hoes is well known on this thread, to anyone reading this new to the boards, don't follow him. He's not going to back up his words with a single action.

Technically our contract says ANY deadhead of at least 3.5 hours, we are to be listed in first class... (of course the * is there saying this is subject to the mainline partner's pass policy, guess how many majors allow regional crews to be positive space listed into first... none) so guess what that clause in our contract is worth???
It was for the 900 Delta when we did MEM-LAX on a 330 to start a trip doing the west coast LAX triangle of slc and sfo with some sea, abq tossed in for good measure. It's irrelevant and we didn't fight hsrd for it because it was clear we weren't gonna be "west-syde" for a while, in the hizz'ouse.
We're boned, stop pretending otherwise. Shut up and quit, or let the elected reps beg. Im not trading a damn thing for fc or ec/c+.

Firstly that contract ref is worthless with regard the subject being discussed.

It's worthless language, but not to the subject... It's worthless because of the asterisk. Kind of like so many of our contract clauses that have the "at the company's discretion" tied to it, or except during IROP. Those exceptions make the language basically worthless, just as the requirement to list us in first is worthless as no major allows it for non management level employees... Heck United even DH's IRO's in coach ![Embarrassment](https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif)

Now that part about non-revving when you have a confirmed seat already... I'll leave that to you.
