Domestically, the minimum required is Economy and that's why you see most of our guys/gals in the back, too.

Well economy is not good enough if I’m working and seats are available, if available I should get it. Don’t need to be at the back of the bus when seats are completely open on EC or FC...

I think we're basically just all arguing the same point here. These musings would be better spent in emails to the company and Union. I'm just gonna do my job the best I can and keep the pressure on them to change it back. But talking about job actions and heated talk won't make it better. I 'enjoyed' my middle seat in row 16 for 2:45 yesterday.... I'm confident we'll get it resolved, I honestly believe this was a mistake that will get corrected, but we need to keep the pressure on in a professional way.

To shed some light on this –
How all this started – some of you know, some don’t – but up until a week ago within 24 hours on a PS ticket you could place yourself in open C+ seats. 9E was never supposed to have had to privilege. When this issue was brought up, the whole debacle about 9E crew riding the premium cabin was called into question. The memo was drafted and issued, then another answer was given. Again, a memo was drafted, not issued this time and then another answer was given. The answer keeps changing from DL mainline.
In conjunction with this, DL IT removed 9Es ability to change from the economy cabin to the premium/ comfort plus cabin. While doing this, they took out the ability to request an upgrade on the existing PSUP/PSUW that we all know and love. You can select “Request upgrade” – but nothing happens. That is the current “IT Glitch” that needs to be fixed. There should be an amended memo issued stating you can no longer move yourself to the “W” and “P” cabin, but you are welcome to request an upgrade to “W” and “P” cabin with the same priority it has always been.
The memo will be issued when the IT glitch is fixed – when is that? Great question! I have no idea.

That's what I thought was going on, the gate agent should still have discretion on where to put us, not simply just, all regional crew into the back of the bus. Delta needs to look at where to improve IT, if you go to any airline ratings site, these days IT is responsible for almost all the bad reviews from customers.

Well that's a complete 180° turn. Shocking.
The new memo says: wear your uniform as you'd like, upgrade with the gate agents (implied), silent on the issue but now supposedly no customer perception conflicts, and Delta is working to fix their IT system for our benefit.
I'm still stunned... It's nice to see a course reversal so complete and happen so quickly. Great job to all those that made this happen!

It looks like we currently can not and are not meant to select an upgrade when checking in early on the web (which may bump a potential passenger upgrade). But, this incorrectly removed that option at the gate as well, which is being fixed (go ahead now and take an empty C+/FC seat).
