Honestly who cares if it takes 1 hour to get to/from the airport if you are just going to go sit in a basement as you say, there is more of a argument to people that live in NY and have to waste their time but I would say very few people live around Kew and I could care less if it takes me 1 hour via public or 20 min via shuttle.

Same thing with the DH Upgrade, there is nothing EDV management can do other than say to Delta management that we are not happy about it. They have done that, specifially Garrison, and Delta has done nothing to fix it because they don’t care and remember this is all DCI not just us.

We get treated pretty good here but we are a regional and it seems a lot of people forget that. We are NOT Delta, we are NOT Delta employees. While I hate the regional model and wish it dies, we are very well paid here with a pretty good contract ,that yes can use improvements.

And who cares about TWOP, they are not forcing a single person to take it, if you don’t wanna take it then don’t, it’s that simple.

Traveling via public transportation in uniform is at best, a big convenience, at worst, a big safety issue for some of our employees. Being in uniform lugging around bags with potential valuables puts a big target on your back, since everyone knows pilots "make a lot of money". I ride the E train quite a bit, and there is about an 80% that you will run into someone bothering you for money, dancing in the the aisle for tips, or a crazy person ranting about God knows what.

The Q10 to JFK isn't quite as bad, but it is always full and it is hard to lug your bags around, and you still feel like you have a target on your back when traveling in uniform.

If we didn't have the dual base, I would move to a crashpad that wouldn't require a trip on the train. I believe Envoy has a crew shuttle that runs from Terminal B to Kew/JFK.

Funny how the NY pilots complained about the shuttle and the company listened.

The complaints were about frequency.

The $8 VIA that TW posted in the latest FOU isn't realistic. While it does cost that much to go between the airports, it is ~$20 to go one way from Kew Gardens.

Like I said, I ride public transportation a ton anyways, so I will take the $50, but suggesting that we all do it is naive.

Envoy doesn’t have any shuttle between the airports.

Envoy does have to return you to your original point of sign in though. Ie start a trip at LGA and finish at JFK, they have to get you a car back to LGA.

It’s up to you though to get to and from your point of sign in, be it a trip or airport standby.

I'm really sorry some folks have been negatively affected by this. I know the complaints were because the shuttle didn't offer enough flexibility; and people wanted more.
For people who live in NYC this is a plus. We didn't get paid parking (because most of us don't drive..) or the $40 stipend.
As far as riding the subway in uniform; I do it ll the time It's a tough town, but its friendly. Put your headphones on and you won't be bothered. its the safest large city in US by far.
And the dancing can be fun.. :-)

It's all fun and games until someone swinging from the hand rail falls on your neck and injures you, but it can be entertaining.

I just think it opens us up to getting rolled at some point entering, exiting, or during the subway ride.

I understand wearing your uniform on the subway as unsafe, but I wear a jacket and no tie in the winter and in the summer will just throw a polo on and change into my shirt at the airport. As mentioned above I also have earphones on with music and have 0 issues on the subway.

I always hide my hat in public now.

You could always bid to DTW, no risks of being put on public transportation in the Motor City.

He’s probably just waiting for his delayed new hire class.
