Has anyone heard about the class action lawsuits for:
Donning and doffing - the unpaid time you have spent getting prepared to work. Like trips by the crew room to pick-up a mask instead of walking directly to your gate, etc...
COVID testing - the unpaid time you spent doing health screenings prior to starting work, etc.
COVID exempt status misuse that makes you ineligible for overtime pay.
Mandatory vaccine requirement for employment or possibly continued employment.
Just wondering what people think or if anyone has heard about ALPA pursuing things like this...

I also don’t think we are requiring vaccines for new hires unless something changed recently.

Should the company compensate you for the time it takes you to get a haircut since they require short hair? Contractually, they can set uniform policy. Which in this case means a mask. How you get one for yourself is your business and problem. I own like a dozen good washable ones and just rotate. Causes me zero stress.
I've never been required to take a test. In fact our loa specifically goes out of it's way to specify two scenarios. One where you get tested and one where you don't. Because it's not required. But they also don't pay me for the time it takes to get a flu test when I get sick. Or my time at the chiropractor because of my double middle seat deadhead.
Our loa protects premium pay if you covid out based on my experience.
Airlines can require vaccinations of it's flight crew. That's been established. Yellow fever, etc.
As for what alpa is "doing about it" idk. Maybe you ask your rep and legal counsel. JS talked about this on the call, but there's not a ton to do. Their job is to protect jobs as best they can under the restrictions of the contract and the law. If neither of those are in conflict, what would you like them to do? I do believe alpa national has come out against mandated covid vaccine as a matter of political opposition, but all they can is lobby unless there's a law being broken
